DMPS Summer Institute 2024

The Science of Reading and the Science of Writing have led to a firmer understanding of the various skills required to become a skilled reader and writer. This session will focus on teaching some of the most elementary writing skills: Transcription skills. Transcription skills include producing writing (handwriting/keyboarding) and spelling. Some focus will be given to describing the importance of teaching Transcription to mastery to facilitate the development of higher-order writing skills.
