In this session, we'll explore morphology instruction and its impact on students' word recognition and language comprehension skills. We'll begin by defining morphology instruction, and then will shift into discussing strategies for selecting words and word parts for explicit instruction and implementing engaging practice activities to reinforce student word and word part learning. Finally, we will discuss a routine to teach students for handling unfamiliar multisyllabic words and will close by discussing implications for instructional planning and data analysis.
